Roller- coaster year - 2020

Hope for the best but be prepared for the worst’ defines 2020 at its best. 2020 was a historic year marking all alarming events. It witnessed many atrocious moments, the deadliest among that was implementation of lock down due to the spread of novel corona virus. Things were getting unstable and alarming, disturbing everyone’s peace of mind. Many deaths, worldwide dilemma, outbreaks, natural phenomena and much more.

Government strategically planned the move for lock down. Jana-ta curfew on 22nd March, 21 day’s lock down from 25th March to 14th April and finally an extended lock down form the month of April. If asked how was 2020, the answer will be a worst year for many but for me it was really exciting. I got to learn many things, initial days were terrific. Don’t know what to do, getting bored, no school, no college, no spending time with friends, maintaining social distancing and what not. All of a sudden the hustle and bustle of the life got paused, I was feeling as if I’m spending my day in a slow-mo. But later I started adapting the things around me, enjoying every moment, spending time with family and most of all finding peace within me. I remember cooking a lot of things, playing UNO and other card games with my family, doing household chores, celebrating birthday’s at home and many more fun things. My view on everything changed. Lock down benefited our nation, the main problem of pollution in Delhi was drastically reduced.

Though all this we have a darker side as the cases went up to 11.1M, the death rate was 157K, but the positive side was 10.8M recovered. Many trend prevail during lock down but the most remembered one for me was “thali bajao, corona bhagao.” Social media had its own way to entertain people also the use of social media increased. We learned it’s not necessary to wake up early and run behind the train, its more efficient if we work from our home. A few days earlier my father was saying “It’s march again, lets lock ourselves in our house and re-experience 2020😉 in a better way.” It takes time to get used to certain things but nothing looks easy if we actually get into it.
